Biryani (Biryani) is one of the most loved and preferable food in India. All categories and all ages of people love it. As per few sources many people believe that the Munhall introduced Biriyani in North India, and they bought flavours to south India also. Then it reached to every corner of India. Almost every region has its own flavors, and different taste. Depending upon the region flavours and tastes there many famous Biriyani types in India. Hyderabadi Biriyani: Hyderabadi Biriyani is one of the most popular dishes in India. It is very typical and challenging task to prepare Hyderabadi Biriyani. While preparing biriyani meat takes the center stage in the layers. They will use more spicy and dum. So we call it as Hyderabadi Dum Biriyani. It is a crown dish for Hyderabad Muslims.

Delhi Biriyani: The Delhi version of the Biryani developed with a unique local flavor as the Munhall kings shifted their political capital to the North Indian city of Delhi. Till the 1950s, most people cooked Biryani in their house and rarely ate out. 

Malabar Biryani: Malabar Biriyani is usually prepared in northern Kerala with a unique variety of rice called Khyma rice. The gravy with meat is cooked separately from the rice and combined at the end. Not too highly spiced, what sets it apart is the use of dehydrated fruits such as cashew nuts and raisins.

Lucknowi Biryani: Also, known as Awadhi Biryani and based on the Persian way of cooking, the chicken and gravy are partly cooked and layered with rice. It is then cooked in dum pukht style in a preserved handi.

Kolkata Biryani: This has perhaps evolved from the Awadhi style. What makes it only one of its kinds is the lighter spice content, distinct flavor and yellowish color.

Sindhi Biryani: This Biryani is quite spicy and flavorsome. What lend to its individuality is the fact that the meat curry is made with a lot of yoghurts.

Dindigul Biryani: A very unique preparation from Tamil Nadu, this biriyani is nothing like the other biryanis you get across in India. It exudes slight flavours of mint leaves and garam masala. Basmati or the seeraga samba rice is used for this preparation.

Bhatkali Biryani: This biriyani originated from the Nawayath Muslim community in Bhatkal, Karnataka. Onions and green chili are copiously used in this preparation.

Ambur Biryani: Its one of the famous Biriyani in Tamil Nadu.Take a trip to the sleepy little town of Ambur and the first thing that'll strike you is the in numerable biriyani stalls dotting the Chennai-Bangalore highway. There's chicken, mutton and prawn as options, with the flavor of mint and coriander standing out.

Sindhi Biryani: Sindhi biriyani, which originated in Sind, Pakistan, is quite spicy and zesty. Sour curd, kind use of spices and chili mark this form of biriyani. Usage of kewra or mitha is another differentiating factor. Sindhi biriyani recipes also use potatoes and prunes.
