Features
Features explain what a product or service is about. A product will have list of features but all of it cannot be fit in to a summary snippet. Only the main features which buyers usually look for are to be listed. For example, a Mobile Phone, the main features are Speed, Camera and Design. You talk about RAM speed, Camera Pixel and thickness of the phone. Please note it’s not a thumb rule that only the above mentioned features are to be only listed. You can also mention other specifications of a phone for A/B testing.
Benefits
Now it is time to market the features. Yes, features will only explain what a product is about. It won’t talk about “why you should buy?” or “what are the advantages of buying our product?” Let’s continue with the previous example. A new version of an older model is released with increased RAM size. So, the benefit of buying newer version is that the processing speed of the phone is increased and you can play higher end games. This segment of the ad is crucial since it makes a compelling proposition to the users. Benefits can also be of other nature too. Monetary benefits include discounts and cash backs. Other benefits are to get free accessories and a life time phone insurance.

Call to Action
This is the last segment of the ad copy which urges the users to take a next step. The next step in the previous examples will be redirecting to the product page which displays all specifications, colors available and speed of the delivery. A call to action can be from a simple text to a button depending on the format of the ad copy.
These tricks to write an attractive online ad can be applied to any products, services and ad platforms. Let’s say you are selling your Car and want to post an ad on a classified website. Since this is a display ad, you are allowed to post pictures (added benefit) and other miscellaneous information if required. But the technique to write the ad remains the same.
